Nalappattu Narayana Menon

Nalappattu Narayana Menon was a multifaceted personality. He has done much to enrich the Malayalam literature. He was a poet, translator and has written serious studies. Kannuneerthulli is an elegy written by him which won great appreciation. As a translator, the greatest of his contribution is that of the Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. He has also translated the light of Asia written by Edwin Arnold. His works include, Chakravaalam, Pulakaanguram, Kannuneerthulli (poetry) Aarshajnaanam (philosophy) Rathisaamraajyam (Erotic science) Paurasthyadeepam, Paavangal (Translation). Kannuneerthulli was written commemorating the death of his first wife. His association with Vallathol, in cultural activities had noteworthy results. He backed and worked with Vallathol in establishing Kalamandalam.
